LAST Saturday evening, a team of grand officers from Brisbane, lead by Dr Gary Bacon, deputy grand master of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland, conducted the ceremony of installation for Springsure Lodge.
Pat Kooyman was installed as worshipful master of Springsure Lodge, which was founded in 1883.
His new team of officers were also invested for the 2011/2012 term.
Springsure Lodge is conducting meat tray raffles each week at the Springsure Hotel, raising funds for the irrigation equipment to water the Springsure State School oval.
Director of ceremonies, right worshipful brother Geoff Warner, a past junior grand warden, kept the evening flowing with Dr Bacon saying: "I am highly impressed by the commitment and energy of the local masons in their community charitable tasks".
Newly installed master of Springsure Lodge, Pat Kooyman, was happy with his first official event.
"Proceedings were excellent, really good," he said.
"We will still be selling meat tray raffles at the Springsure Hotel on Friday nights.
"I reckon our target will be reached by next month and hopefully we can install it over the Christmas holidays."
