New wheels leave trail of generosity
CENTRAL Family Support has a new set of wheels, thanks to the generosity of the Gemfields RSL sub branch.
The new wheels come in the form of a new box trailer for Central Family Support which encompasses Yumba Bimbi Respite Service, Semita House and Central Family Support Host Provider.
Central Family Support is a not for profit community organisation providing flexible, creative, individualised and group development programs to support people with disabilities across Central and Western Queensland.
Gemfields RSL sub branch president Peter Tulk said the club supports a number of charities in the district and when they heard about Central Family Support needing a trailer, they jumped at the chance to help out.
The donation came about when former sub branch secretary Sue Butler put a recommendation to the committee about a donation to Central Family Support.
Central Family Support secretary and executive support Jade Dougan said the service was in need of a trailer to transport luggage, mobility aids when supporting people on holidays and for transporting resources and equipment to fundraising and other community events.
Jade praised the sub branch which donated an initial amount but increased its donation when the committee heard it wasn't enough to cover the cost of the trailer.
