IT’S time to be resolute about that nasty smoking ... or is it?
New Year’s Day is one of the most popular times to quit smoking but by quitting during the festive season you could be decreasing your chances of success.
Manager of Quit Support Programs, Luke Atkin said smokers would have an easier time quitting mid-January when the celebrations are over.
“With all the festivities and sometimes stress of the holiday season, many quitters will find it hard to stay non-smoking if they give up cigarettes on January 1st.
“Additionally, if they’re unsuccessful, it can lead to a sense of disappointment and lack of motivation to try again,” he said.
