Newman releases six-month plan
FRESH from trumpeting the gains made during the first 100 days of government, Premier Campbell Newman released his six-month action plan on Friday.
At the LNP state conference in Brisbane, Mr Newman spoke about the plan which will include 149 "actions".
It included a 30-year plan for agriculture, construction to begin on the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and to begin statutory planning for the Darling Downs and Golden Triangle regions.
Also on the to-do list was the first draft of a10-year plan for the Bruce Highway and the designs for the Toowoomba CBD ring road.
Mr Newman said there would also be a ministerial code of conduct, a new police commissioner appointed and the first steps taken to fix the Queensland Health payroll system.
"We will keep working towards our goal of cutting waste and reducing unemployment to 4% within six years by growing the economy with an emphasis upon Queensland's four pillars - agriculture, tourism, resources and construction."
