NiE A Symbol of Hope
Can you imagine what it is like to live in a country where armed conflict is happening around you or a severe natural disaster has occurred?
Imagine the effects this may have on you and your family. Food and water may be scarce, you may be separated from family members, diseases may cause illness and you may be injured in bombings, by land mines or by natural forces.
For some people in some areas of the world, this is a reality. For them seeing the symbols of the Red Cross, Red Crescent or Red Crystal are signs of help - something that brings hope. They are worn by those who belong to a movement that saves lives and assists vulnerable communities around the world.
