No England lifeline for Simona

EMBATTLED West Tigers centre Tim Simona isn't expected to find any sanctuary in England's Super League.

Simona has been suspended indefinitely by the NRL following allegations he placed bets on matches he was involved in.

If found guilty he is expected to be hit with a four-year ban, with a final decision to be announced by the NRL Integrity Unit either on Friday or early next week.

It is believed no Super League club can sign players serving an NRL ban.

While Todd Carney was handed a lifeline by the competition after being sacked by Cronulla following the "bubbler" incident, he was never suspended by the NRL.
