‘NQ strap yourselves in, live music is back’
The list is in and it's big.
Lee Kernaghan, Mackay's Graeme Conners and the Wolfe Brothers are among the headline acts performing at the region's inaugural country music fest later this year.
Tickets go on sale today coinciding with the release of the full line up for QCCS presents NQ's Rock'n Country music festival on August 20-22.
"We are expecting tickets to sell quickly, we have received a lot of interest through our Facebook page and there was also a high percentage of those who bought tickets last year keep them for the 2021 event," Event organiser Geoff Baguley, from Yeehaa Events, said.
"Numbers will be capped to comply with COVID restrictions, so we are encouraging people to buy early to secure tickets."
Mr Baguley said the interest that he received from artists was overwhelming with so many inquiries about performing at the event.
"It just goes to show how much talent we hold, not just in Australia but in North Queensland," he said.
"We have extended the festival to be a three-day event as this allowed us to be able to have more performers for the duration of the weekend."
Country music artist Jayne Denham said with the festival on hold for more than 12 months, the band and herself were excited to bring not only new music but a killer new show.
"NQ strap yourselves in, live music is back and it's going to be big," Ms Denham said.
Anyone who buys a three-day event ticket before the end of March will go into the draw to win one of 50 Meet and Greet tickets, which include a meet and greet opportunity with each of the headliners over the three days.
QCCS manager Craig Bogaarts said they were very proud to support Mackay's first three-day country music festival.
"With the outstanding mix of artists, and those behind the scenes bringing this event to life, it promises to be an event worth adding to your social calendar," Mr Bogaarts said.
Tickets can be purchased from the NQ's Rock'n Country website.
