It is almost time to turn clocks back one hour

UNLESS you want to be super early for everything this Sunday, wind your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday.

Yes, you get one extra hour of blissful sleep.

When does daylight saving end for 2017?

Mark it in your calendars - daylight saving will end in NSW on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Residents in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the ACT can also put their clocks back one hour from 3am AEST this Sunday.

Most Android phones and Apple iPhones will update their times automatically as long as you are using the automatically set network time rather than a manual setting.

When first introduced, daylight saving went for four months, but in 2007 was extended to seven months before being reduced to six.

The issue of whether it is needed at all regularly surfaces twice a year.

Daylight saving next begins in NSW on Sunday, October 1, 2017 when clocks go forward one hour at 2am.
