LEADING Australian golfers Geoff Ogilvy and Robert Allenby have denied their friendship is over following a heated argument following Sunday's final round of the Australian PGA Championship at Coolum.

The players stunned diners in the Hyatt Regency resort's packed Village Square on Sunday night when their President's Cup feud spilled over publicly.

Ogilvy was not impressed with Allenby publicly criticising some of his Presidents Cup teammates, of which he was one, after he failed to score a single point as one of Greg Norman's captain's picks.

Allenby was upset when Ogilvy tweeted: "warms the heart to see Robert playing so well this week" during his third round of the Australian PGA Championship.

Ogilvy said later his tweet was not sarcastic but Allenby, who dropped four shots in his last six holes, felt it was.
