MOUSTACHES are out in force again for 'Movember' as men's health issues are brought into the open.
UQ Health Care doctors and staff are taking the lead with the blokes growing facial hair and the girls wearing pretend moustaches.
Movember is an international promotion of the awareness of men's health - both mental and physical.
Doctor Rob Kielty said growing the 'mow' can encourage men to discuss issues such as sadness and depression that they wouldn't normally.
"Blokes are encouraged to keep going and put up with it...but I think it can be really helpful to talk to people about the way you are feeling inside," he said
"You begin to realise that you are not on your own."
Doctor Simon Barnett said physical ailments are also very much on the radar such as prostrate cancer, diabetes and obesity.
