One killed, three injured after car slams into tree

ONE person has been killed after a car containing four people left the road and ran into a tree at Tamborine Mountain this morning.

The single vehicle traffic crash happened on Tamborine Mountain Road near Barry Road at 5.55am.

One of the passengers died at the scene. The driver and two other passengers were trapped inside the vehicle.

The 19-year-old male driver was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A female passenger was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital via helicopter in a critical condition.

An 18-year-old male passenger was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
