One man dead after Pacific Highway crash

ONE man has died following a crash at Banora Point last night.

Police said about 8.25pm Wednesday, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, at the turnoff to Fingal, following reports of a collision involving two cars.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 58-year-old man, was treated by Ambulance Paramedics, however he died at the scene.

The female driver of the second vehicle was taken to Tweed Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

The two drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles and no one else was injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

As investigations into the incident continue, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
