Lawler resigns from Fair Work a day before investigation
ONE of the vice-presidents of the Fair Work Commission, Michael Lawler, resigned from the role yesterday, Employment Minister Michaelia Cash told the Senate.
Mr Lawler helped his partner, former Health Services Union official Kathy Jackson, fight corruption charges.
He took sick leave from the nation's workplace regulator while helping her fight a lawsuit over a major theft from the HSU.
His resignation was effective immediately and came a day before he was due to respond to an investigation into his use of sick leave.
