OPRAH has touched down on Hamilton Island wearing an Akubra, white shirt and black pants, along with her entourage after her landing site was changed at the last minute.

The Daily Mercury was on location at Hamilton Island when the megastar arrived at the picturesque Whitsundays to a warm 28 degrees and blue waters just before 1.25pm.

Oprah will now be able to soak up the passing beauty of the Great Barrier Reef as part of her Ultimate Australian Adventure.

After she arrived at Hamilton Island Airport crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the talk show queen.

Unfortunately Oprah quickly hopped into the second van of two vans on the tarmac where she was whisked away to her her luxury accommodation.

It is believed Oprah will be staying at Qualia which is situated on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef.

At present Oprah is believed to be on her way to the Wildlife Sanctuary Animal Zoo.
