Pakistan skipper guides side into semi-finals

CRICKET: Pakistan will play England in Wednesday night's ICC Champions Trophy semi-final in Cardiff after shocking Sri Lanka with a three-wicket win in the final pool match.

Pakistan had at one stage slumped to 7-162 chasing 237 for victory.

But skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (61no) and Mohammad Amir (28no) their side home with 31 balls to spare after sharing an unbroken eighth-wicket partnership of 75.

"I said to Amir to play your game, to not worry. If he scored 20 runs, which he did, we would win,” Sarfraz said.

India will play Bangladesh in Thursday's second semi-final at Edgbaston, with the final at the Oval on Sunday.
