SOUTH American eco-adventure operator explora has completed a multi- million dollar renovation of its Hotel Salto Chico, the only five star lodge in the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile's Patagonia.

Enhancements and additions include major work on environmentally sustainable matters like lighting, other power-related matters, re-cycling and waste, plus a complete makeover of all public spaces, including the dining room which now boasts a wine bar featuring Chile's wide selection of wines.

The renovations also include a new and more effective lighting system throughout, with all illumination being LED technology and eco-friendly.

The hotel spa has also been completely re-built, 100m from the lodge, and offers broad facilities including outdoor spas, indoor lap pool, a Turkish bath, massage rooms and sauna and steam rooms.

The hotel has now re-opened after being closed for the first time since it opened in 1993 with rates for the springtime season starting at around $2780 for a four-night stay which includes airport transfers,  all gourmet meals and bar, with daily explorations on foot, bike, boat and horse.
