Tieri's newest resident

AS THE clock counted down to the new year, the Larkin family, from Tieri, were counting down the days until their newest family member would arrive.

And on January 7, Ceharliah came into the world. Parents Tamara and Nathann said their little bundle was due this Sunday, but came a few days early as the perfect start to 2015.

"My water broke (on Tuesday) morning and we came over to Emerald," Tamara said.

"It was about 9pm when they induced me and it took two and a half hours for contractions.

"It was a long day."

Arriving at 12.44am, she had two very eager siblings waiting for the newest addition to the Larkin clan.

Brother Nazarlo, 3, and sister Ellateekqah, 2, were both extremely excited about the birth.

"They were on board from the start, always fighting over who could rub my belly," Tamara said with a laugh.

"When we had her, I told Nathann not to tell them what we had. I wanted to wait until they got here."

The littlies couldn't wait to meet their new sibling. "(Nazarlo) was in the car before I even got outside - he was so excited," Nathann said.

And luckily, little Ceharliah was a few days early, not to take the shine from Nazarlo's fourth birthday today.

"He kept telling us the baby couldn't be born on his birthday," Tamara said.
