Man burnt as portaloo explodes

A MAN suffered severe third degree burns to his head, face, arms, chest and airways from an explosion in a portaloo at Rockhampton Airport this morning.

It was reported the man had been lighting a cigarette at the time of the incident but it is unknown how the portaloo managed to explode at this stage.

The incident occurred at 9.30am.

He was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious condition.

The incident was not involved with Talisman Sabre.
