Pirates will make Crushers work hard

A WEEKEND of big scores in the games last weekend, the regular season has finished and there are only five clubs left for the finals series. Thanks to senior and junior club officials and volunteers for their hard work to keep their club running for the year.

Will the Pirates maintain their winning form and storm home over the Crushers or can Crushers travel to Tieri and beat them?

Crushers won the last encounter in Blackwater but can they travel? Haven’t all year.

The Crushers forwards will win their battle against Tieri but the Crusher’s backs will struggle against the ball playing Pirates.

Marc Fickling and Mitch Wyatte are a class above the rest. But you need 13 players to win a game of football.

Pirates had the youthful Ernie Sandilands playing hooker, strange for Ernie who likes to keep out of the scrums. It should be a great match-up and the Dysart Bulls will be watching to see who they play the following week as they had a win against the Emerald Tigers.

Cowboys played a great brand of football to beat Springsure and they’ll need all that enthusiasm to beat the Panthers in Tieri. The Panthers have a good team and they rolled Bluff last weekend with plenty of points to send the Bluff boys packing.

Hard to pick this week’s winners but best of luck to all four teams. Get down to your local games.
