MAYOR Paul Pisasale has called on his opponent Gary Duffy to take his complaint of his social media account being hacked to the police.

Mr Duffy said his account was hacked after the QT questioned him on posting a video on You Tube linked to his East Ipswich business, of a young, drunk woman crawling on a road.

Mr Duffy claimed he was unaware the video had been uploaded to his You Tube account and claimed it must have been hacked by a person, or persons unknown.

But the video was removed within minutes after the QT contacted Mr Duffy for comment.

Cr Pisasale said the defence was "ridiculous" and urged Mr Duffy to report the allegation and hand his computer over to the police to be examined.

"Hacking is a very serious complaint," Cr Pisasale said.

"Report it to police so that they can do a proper forensic analysis to find out who has hacked his site and let the truth come out."

Cr Pisasale said only the person who uploaded the video could have taken it down.

"He'd better be careful what he is saying," Cr Pisasale said.

"If it came off minutes after being contacted by the Queensland Times, only he could have taken it off. It was there for 11 months.

"I wish the guy would start focussing on what he can do positive for the city.

"This is his chance to prove who is lying. I would suggest to him to start telling the truth because it is going to start catching up with him.

"The challenge is there, if he wants to prove that I'm wrong or he's wrong, let's do the analysis."

Mr Duffy continued to defend his stance online yesterday.

"What is disturbing is that this was on our You Tube business account which was established to enable videos to be played on our business website," Mr Duffy said.

"There were only ever three videos, and two were about flood protection and one for container fillers for shipping containers.

"We get a call from QT telling us this video is there. The site is usually only accessed by governments and companies searching for flood protection or shipping container automatic fillers.

"If anyone finds anything that they think shouldn't be on our websites report it to me and we will get it deleted."
