UPDATE 4.45pm: A LAGOON Grass man has been arrested and charged in relation to the seizure of several hand guns from his property and will appear before Lismore Local Court tomorrow.

The 42-year-old man has been charged with several offences, the most serious of which carries up to 20-year jail sentence.

The charges included the illegal manufacturing of a pistol, conspiracy to supply a firearm, and the possession a pistol, ammunition, and prohibited drugs.

At about 10.30am officers from the Richmond Local Area Command Target Action Group and Drug Unit attended the man's Bangalow Road, Lagoon Grass property.

Inside the man's home they located a safe. Inside the safe they found a dismantled Colt revolver and numerous firearm parts including trigger mechanisms and operating mechanisms.

Police allege the Colt revolver had been converted for the firing of .410 shotgun shells.

Also located within the safe was a large number of spent or used .410 gauge ammunition and a large amount of unused .22 calibre ammunition.

Police then searched the man's bedroom and located a replica Browning pistol and a replica Glock 9mm pistol, which had been converted for use for the purpose of firing .22 bullets.

The Lagoon Grass man was refused bail and will appear in court tomorrow.
