Playgrounds receive upgrades

FOUR of the regions playgrounds have received upgrades just in time for Christmas.

New play equipment has been installed in Centenary Park, Dysart, as well as the Binda, Lions and Bernborough Parks in Moranbah.

Some of the new equipment includes merry-go-rounds, basket swings as well as flying foxes with ramps.

Local Mayor Anne Baker said that she is thrilled to see local families enjoying the upgrades.

"It's fantastic to see how busy the playgrounds are now, with everyone enjoying the new equipment,” she said.

Cr Baker said that communities have been consulted through the whole upgrade process.

"Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, we hope we've hit the mark,” she said.

A new playground design for Emu Park in Middlemount has been drafted by council and is due to be upgraded early next year.

The skate park in Clermont is also receiving an upgrade with a hardcover shade structure to be installed in January.

More information on the new playgrounds can be found on council's website www.isaac.qld.gov.au
