Girl in custody after alleged robbery with knife and syringe

POLICE have charged a girl following an alleged armed robbery that occurred in Raceview overnight.

Around 6.30pm, a girl entered a food store on South Station Road and it will be alleged she made demands for money.

It will be further alleged that the girl produced a knife and a syringe and fled the store with a sum of cash.

She was taken into custody by police a short time later.

A 15-year-old Raceview girl has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, possession of dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and four counts of stealing.

She will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
