Police deem object on ferry in Sydney 'not suspicious'

THE unattended package on a ferry in Sydney has been deemed not suspicious by Police. 

Ferries were stopped for an hour this afternoon as police set up an exclusion zone to examine the object. 

The preimeter of the exclusion zone will be lifted shortly.



[1:30 PM:]

A POLICE operation is underway at Circular Quay in Sydney after suspicious object discovered on a ferry.



Police were called to the area at around 1.30 pm (AEDST).   

An exclusion zone has been established.



The Transport Department is reporting City Circle trains will not stop at Circular Quay station due to the operation.
