Police go digital to solve crimes
THE internet is another tool in the kitbag of police as they strive to arrest offenders and educate the public.
Acting Sergeant Jason Wheeler of Toowoomba Police said the myPolice Darling Downs blog was another way police could get information out to people.
"Police are also using Facebook and Twitter along with the blog to communicate with the members of the public.
"Sometimes a person may be seen near an area of a crime or witness a crime and then police will want to speak with them or know who they are.
"That can assist us in solving crimes."
Police are at present appealing for information on seven people who might be able to assist with their investigations.
"Police can't be everywhere 24 hours a day and there are more people than police," Act. Sgt Wheeler said.
"They are our eyes and ears."
