Police recapture ‘Thelma and Louise’ prison escapee

ABIGAIL Graf, one half of the 'Thelma and Louise' duo who escaped from a Gold Coast correctional facility last week has been recaptured and charged by police.

The 21-year-old female prisoner escaped from the Numinbah Correctional Centre with Tegan Simpson on Sunday, September 10.

The pair were found to be missing when a headcount was conducted.

Ms Graf was arrested in Moorina, a suburb bordering Upper Caboolture, north of Brisbane, around 2.20pm on Monday.

She has been charged with one count of escape lawful custody and is expected to appear at the Caboolture Magistrates Court on September 19.

Simpson, 24, remains at large. Anyone who has seen her or has any information is urged to contact police or call Policelink on 131 444.
