Police spat at, bitten, attacked by woman and her partner

THREE Lismore police have been allegedly assaulted by a woman and her partner during an arrest today.

On Wednesday morning police from Richmond TAG attended a premises on Keen St to arrest a woman on warrants, Richmond Local Area Command's Senior Constable David Henderson said.

The woman was with her male partner at the time.

Police allege that whilst arresting the woman they were punched and kicked whilst carrying out their duties.

They were also allegedly obstructed by the woman's male companion.

The woman allegedly spat and bit police during the arrest and her male companion also assaulted an officer.

Consequently, a 27-year-old Lismore woman has been charged with two counts of assaulting police, two counts of resisting police and had two warrants executed.

She was bail refused and will face Lismore Local Court today.

Her companion, a 35-year-old Lismore man has been charged with assaulting police, resisting police and obstructing police.

He will appear in Lismore Local Court next month
