Police use Gable Tostee as true crime subject to raise money

Police have found a way to make some money from Gable Tostee for a worthwhile cause.

Tostee, now known as Eric Thomas, was last year found not guilty of the murder and manslaughter of New Zealander Warriena Wright who plunged to her death from his 14th floor Surfers Paradise highrise balcony in August 2014 after a night of drunken sex.

Police last week held a $25-a-head public presentation called 'Behind the Crime: The Gable Tostee Investigation and Trial'.

Part of a series of true crime presentations, the event was held at Brisbane Girls Grammar to raise funds for Community Supporting Police, a charity which assists sick and injured Queensland police and their families in times of need.
