Stepdad denies 'touching' girl

HER hands are tucked securely in her pockets, her eyes remain downcast.

The video taped interview with police shows the 11-year-old girl from south east Queensland allege that her mother's partner touched her.

It was presented as evidence in a trial in the Gladstone District Court against a local man yesterday.

The man pled not guilty to indecent treatment of a child under 16.

The incident allegedly occurred between March 1 and April 30, 2009.

Crown prosecutor Peter O'Connor said the girl was in the bath with her two little brothers.

He said the defendant came in, dried the boys off and sent them away.

Mr O'Connor said the man allegedly washed the girl's vagina, dried it with a towel and licked it.

The girl's mother testified that she was still with the accused.

She said her daughter wanted to live with her father on the Sunshine Coast.

And that this was motive to lie about the offence.

The crown and the defence will address the jury this morning.
