Pregnant woman taken to hospital as a precautionary measure

4PM: POLICE this afternoon confirmed a woman in her 20's was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following an incident at Norman Gardens earlier today.

The spokesperson said the woman was not injured and a stick was not involved.

12:10PM: POLICE are still investigating following reports a pregnant woman in her 20's was assaulted at Norman Gardens this morning.

Police media said charges were yet to be laid.

10am: SCENES of crime have been called to a residence located behind the Red Hill Centre in relation to an assault on a pregnant woman.

Police were originally called to the residence by neighbours who called Triple Zero after a woman screamed 'call the police'.

Neighbours reported there was a lot of noise coming from the residence but they did not know what was going on.

Police then received reports of a pregnant woman located outside Farm and Garden on Yaamba Rd, next to the Red Hill Centre, who had been assaulted by a man with a stick.

Witnesses reported the woman was very distressed.

Reports indicate she is about six-months pregnant and is 23-years-old.

It is believed her attacker was described as wearing a red hoodie and had gone into a nearby shop.

The woman has been treated by Queensland Ambulance Service.

9.25am: A WOMAN in her 20s who is about six-months pregnant has just been allegedly assaulted by a teenager with a stick.

Reports indicate the incident occurred outside Farm and Garden next to the Red Hill Centre.

It is believed the alleged offender knows the woman.

Queensland Ambulance Service have been called to treat the woman, who is 23-years-old.

Police are now on the lookout for a male aged 16 or 17-years-old and wearing a red hoodie.
