Premier flies over Emerald

QUEENSLAND Premier Anna Bligh has just flown over Emerald in a Black Hawk helicopter to assess the disaster situation.

It is believed Ms Bligh spent most of the day in Emerald before doing the fly over.

Ms Bligh yesterday announced that Emerald, along with the rest of the Central Highlands, Rockhampton Bundaberg, North Burnett and Woorabinda had been declared disaster zones.

The Nagoa River is expected to peak at 16.2 metres in Emerald tomorrow.
