The Mooy feat matched only by $240m-rated PL stars
NEW research has shown Aaron Mooy's importance to Huddersfield Town's Premier League survival, cementing the Socceroos star as the Terriers' most important player.
The report, by Betstars details which player's goal involvements have earned their Premier League team the most points this season.
The findings are based on the amount of times a player has contributed the winning or equalling goal or assist.
Mooy's combined seven league goals and assists means he has singled-handedly earned Huddersfield six league points of their 27 earned this season.
That's because three of Mooy's goals or assists have been match winning for David Wagner's side, putting him in the same list alongside the likes of Arsenal's second most expensive ever signing ($93.6m) Alexandre Lacazette on six points earned.
Leicester's Riyad Mahrez, who was a $106.6m target of City, has picked up seven points for his side, three winning and one equalising contribution, and is just one spot above Mooy on the list.
Mooy also stands level with West Ham's record signing Marko Arnautovic ($42.6m).
Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku, Tottenham's Harry Kane and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah are their club's most influential player.
As expected, it is Kevin De Bruyne that stands above the pack having won Manchester City an incredible 20 points this season through his goals and assists.
Kane is hot on his heels with a 17 point contribution.
Chelsea's Alvaro Morata is also impressive, with his eight match-winning efforts culminating in 16 points despite his apparent struggles with form and fitness.
Although, it's grim reading for West Brom who are not only bottom of the Premier League ladder but also have the smallest individual points contribution of the whole league.
Their best is Jay Rodriguez, with a measly three points coming via a single match winning goal and another to draw a match.
