TWO turbos not enough these days?
If you're after four turbochargers on your car you no longer have to fork out for a Bugatti, all you need is a BMW 5 Series diesel which can carry the whole family.
Quad turbos have been fitted to BMW's M550d xDrive, up from the previous three turbochargers found on the previous 550d.
Production plans are currently only for left-hand drive models, but Australia's love of all-things performance should mean if right-hand drive cars are produced it would be high on BMW Australia's want list.
BMW says the engine in the M550d is the world's most powerful six-cylinder diesel car, boasting figures of 294kW and 760Nm of torque.
That equates to a zero to 100kmh time of 4.4 seconds in the sedan or 4.6 seconds the wagon, combined with an economy figure of 5.9-litres/100km.
