IF you are planning to take your kids to see a State of Origin (pictured) game in Brisbane this year, start saving now.
And if you aren't an NRL club member, or haven't signed for a membership package with Queensland Rugby League, you'll be at the back of the line for tickets for the two Origin matches to be played at Suncorp Stadium when they go on sale later this month.
If you want one of the best seats in the house, a category one ticket, don't expect much change from $300. Category two seating will cost fans $255 while category three tickets are a pinch at $160. Sideline gold seating will set fans back $250 plus another $16 for a beer and a hamburger.
The cheapest Origin seat, perched high in the stands, will cost $80 - about $30 more than the dearest seat in the house in 2008.
Despite the heavy hike in prices, game one on May 28 and the potential series decider on July 9 are expected to sell out quickly.
