Princess Mary set to give birth

SPECULATION is mounting in the Danish press that Crown Princess Mary will give birth to her twins at the Copenhagen University Hospital today.

Tabloid newspaper BT reports that preparations are under way to welcome the baby royals, with "several sources" confirming Mary was readying to give birth.

The reports came just days after the Tasmanian-born Princess cancelled all appointments, including a New Year's Eve reception, with rumours circulating she decided to rest ahead of the arrivals.

Further adding to the speculation about the imminent births, the Crown Princess and her husband, Crown Prince Frederick, ignored tradition over Christmas to stay at Christiansborg Palace and opted to keep within close proximity of the hospital.

Mary's father, John Davidon, and his wife Susan Moody have already arrived in Copenhagen to be close to the Crown Princess during the final stages of her pregnancy.
