A man and woman were arrested following a police chase last night at Blacksoil.

AN intoxicated woman found lying on a Toowoomba footpath turned on police who were simply trying to move her on.

When police found Annette Marie Rose Anderson lying on the Jellicoe St footpath on August 26, they had tried to move her on, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

However, she became angry and yelled at police calling officers "You f***ing white ****s" and other derogatory names in front of children playing in a yard nearby.

Taken to the watch house, the 40-year-old was found with small plastic clip seal bags which had traces of methylamphetamine and three needle syringes.

She again became angry with watch house staff at whom she threw punches which missed, the court heard.

Anderson pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs, public nuisance, obstructing police and failing to properly dispose of needle and syringe.

Her solicitor Divina DeLeon told the court her client instructed she did not use drugs but accepted responsibility for having the items.

The day in question was the 20th anniversary of the deaths of her parents and she had other stresses, she said.

Her client had been drinking that day and had no recollection of events, Ms DeLeon submitted.

Magistrate Damian Carroll placed her on 12 months probation to include random testing for illicit drugs.
