Public space extensively burnt in act of boredom
PUBLIC toilets have been extensively burnt and the local skate park has been vandalised in what seems to be an act of boredom.
Police believe the toilet block at Centenary Park, Dysart, was damaged by fire between 3pm on March 31 and 7am on April 1.
The nearby skate park was also vandalised with graffiti in the same time frame.
Senior Constable Nick Schmidt said the acts of wilful damage may have been linked.
“Anyone with information or who recognises the graffiti tags is urged to contact local police or report to Crime Stoppers anonymously,” he said.
“Residents are reminded that all council parks and recreational facilities are currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.”
