CELEBRATE the festive season at the Christmas for our Baby Angels.

The day is a fundraiser for the Stillbirth Foundation and organiser Kathryn Weekley said the aim for the event is to also show the families who have been affected, the support within the community.

"Leading up to Christmas is a really hard time for families that have been effected so this day will be a day where they can enjoy themselves and take a moment to breath and be happy,” Kathryn said.

"I was effected by this 11 years ago, on the 1st of December it would have been my baby's 11th birthday so I am treating this event as a party I never got to throw.

"The day is to help the families in this town that have been touched by this to be able to smile for a day leading up to Christmas. And to give the town a fun and relaxing day out.”

The day is on Saturday, December 3, at the Vince Lester bridge end of the Emerald Botanic Gardens.

There are different activities for kids including tug-of-war, hook a reindeer, and balloon on a spoon race, running throughout the day.

There are also market stalls, a jumping castle plus a sausage sizzle, ice cream, slushies, coffee and a food van selling snacks.

"I am also holding a competition to guess how much the cake weighs donated by Make a Cake by Chaz. This cake will be worth $380 and will be of a Christmas theme,” Kathryn said.

"At 11am Santa will be arriving on the fire truck, he will stay for two hours and have his own photographer with him.

"Photos will be $5 each and they will be emailed through instead of printed out.

"Santa will be announcing the winner of the colouring-in competition that has been running for a couple of weeks now. Then he will be leaving on the fire truck.”

There will also be performances by Peter Haddrill, Anna Farquhar, Kalesti Butler and Tameaka Powell throughout the day that finishes at 4pm.

"There will be a balloon release to give people an option of placing a letter to their loved one inside before we blow them up so they can send their loved one a letter,” Kathryn said.
