Police locate young girls taken from Raceview

UPDATE 1:51pm: The two young girls who were taken from Raceview this morning have been located safe and well.

Information provided by members of the public led police to a recreational parkland at Springfield.

The 33-year-old man is now assisting police with their enquiries.

Police have thanked the media and the public for their assistance in helping police locate the children safely.
 

UPDATE 1:15pm: Police have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries after two girls were taken from Raceview this morning and may be at significant risk.

Around 9.40am, a 33-year-old Thuringowa man (pictured) was seen putting the two girls (a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old) into a Silver Hyundai ix35 with Victorian registration 1Dy3NX.

The man and the girls are known to each other.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, of a solid build and around 165cm tall with sandy hair and blue eyes.

The 3-year-old girl is described as Caucasian in appearance, of a fair complexion with sandy-blonde hair.

The 4-year-old girl is described as Caucasian in appearance, of a fair complexion with sandy-blonde hair.

 

The car is described as being a Silver Hyundai with Victorian registration 1DY3NX.

EARLIER 12:37pm: The Queensland Police Service is seeking urgent public assistance to help locate two girls - a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old - who were taken from Raceview around 9.40am and may be at significant risk.

A man, who is known to the girls, was seen putting them into a car.

The car is described as being a Silver Hyundai with Victorian registration 1DY3NX.

The man is from Townsville and is described as Caucasian in appearance, of a solid build and around 165cm tall with sandy hair and blue eyes.

There is no further information available at this time.
