RACQ MotorFest to rev up Eagle Farm

CARS, food and family fun promise to drive big crowds to RACQ MotorFest at Brisbane's Eagle Farm Racecourse next Sunday.

Queensland's premier collectable car event features carnival rides and live entertainment, alongside special displays celebrating a centenary of Chevrolet and 50 years of the iconic E-Type Jaguar.

RACQ spokesperson Brodie Bott said that while almost 800 spectacular cars were the main focus of MotorFest, the expanding list of attractions made the event a full day of fun for the family.

"RACQ MotorFest is a community event for all ages celebrating the past, present and future of motoring, along with a host of family attractions and activities," he said.

"Whether casting your eye over the sleek lines of some of the beautiful cars on show, checking out the food and market stalls, or getting your photo taken with the MotorFest Grid Girls, there is something for everyone to enjoy."

Mr Bott said a number of special attractions helped make this year.s MotorFest a 'must-do' event.

"Vehicles on display include the latest model Lamborghini, the stunning Gallardo, the 'most beautiful car in the world' the E-Type Jag and almost every model of Chevrolet, which turns 100 in 2011," he said.

"We'll also have a replica of the Studebaker which broke the Australian land speed record on South Port Beach in 1916."

Admission to the event is a gold coin donation per person, so it won't break the family budget.

Proceeds go to the RACQ Helicopter Rescue Network, with gates open from 10am.

MotorFest will finish with a cavalcade of collectable vehicles from the racecourse at 3pm.   Free off-road parking is available.
