Rare 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish Centenary Edition

FOR my blog this week, I am featuring the very rare and very beautiful 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish Centenary Edition.

At the beginning of 2013, Aston Martin released a range of Centenary Edition models to their line-up to celebrate the company's 100th birthday.

These limited edition models are restricted to cosmetic enhancements only, so unfortunately there are no technical modifications. I will speak about the difference between the standard Vanquish and this Centenary Edition model later on in this article.

The engine is able to propel this Centenary Edition Vanquish from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 4.1 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 295 kilometres per hour (183 miles per hour).

Connected to the engine is Aston Martin's six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission that sends the power through a limited-slip differential and then onto the rear wheels. Thanks to the full carbon fibre body, the Vanquish weighs in with a kerb weight of 1746 kilograms.

The Vanquish is actually the first Aston Martin to feature launch control, and this is how it can accelerate from 0-100 kilometres per hour in such a short amount of time.

The technology is the same that is used in the Aston Martin Motorsport Vehicles, and it allows the car to accelerate from a standstill as smooth and as fast as possible with little to no tyre torture.

Compared with a standard Aston Martin Vanquish, you can tell that this is the Centenary Edition by the bespoke exterior paintwork which takes a minimum of 68 hours to complete, its "Deep Soft Black Leather Interior" which was previously only featured in the limited edition One-77 hypercar, contrasting silver stitching, the Aston Martin wings sown into the head restraints with special silver thread, and solid sterling silver sill plaques individually numbered with an Aston Martin hallmark.

Aston Martin decided to only make 100 of each Centenary Edition model, and this is only one of a few Vanquish Centenary Edition's to come to Australian shores. All of these have unfortunately been sold, but if you're interested in a standard Vanquish they start at $471,290 plus on-road costs.
