READER COMMENT: It's time for bit of shush on quiet carriage

READER COMMENT: WHAT part of "Quiet Carriage" don't some train commuters understand?

Obviously, for some, who don't look before they board, it means nothing.

Just another carriage: nothing special about this one!

It is very frustrating to deliberately choose these carriages set aside for peaceful and quiet journeys, only to find those aboard are either illiterate, have no social boundaries or clues about public behaviour, or just don't care!

Drunk, loud, abusive and aggressive behaviours aren't tolerated in the streets, yet Translink is powerless to control this on their trains and buses.

This is typical of a narcissistic generation which thinks everything is all about them and their needs.

They continue on with their anti-social behaviours, their loud conversations, music or mobile phone conversations, oblivious to their impact on those who choose these carriages for the quiet.

There is no advocate who will stand in the gap and act on behalf of those who are subjected to this kind of irresponsible and inconsiderate, selfish behaviour.

There is no button to push, except the buttons of those who are captive to this.

If anyone dares to challenge these recalcitrants, they are subjected to a mouthful of abuse and train rage.

So everyone just tolerates these morons who push the boundaries of etiquette and social behaviour with impunity.

There is theory and practice on public transport and no monitoring.
