Taila Gouge ready for The Voice showdown after Miley win

TAILA Gouge has fought her way through a battle round to keep herself on the reality TV show The Voice.

The Moranbah girl came up against fellow contestant Annabelle Eve in last night's WIN TV show, as they belted out the Miley Cyrus hit The Climb.

Taila said all she could do was to try her best and it paid off.

"It's a great experience because you're going out on a limb and you're against another great musician," the 17-year-old said.

When the battle ended, Taila said she couldn't believe that her coach Joel Madden had chosen her.

"I was so shocked that Joel picked me. I just couldn't believe it," Taila said.

"When there's two of you up there, you don't know how he's going to pick, but you feel so privileged."

Taila said that Joel had been a great coach and had really kept up positive vibes in the competition.

Taila, who's been singing in clubs and schools around Moranbah for years, said she was excited to move to the next round of the competition.

"Next up we have the showdown. I'm going to have to make myself stand out from the rest," Taila said.
