Queensland Reds on mission for rare away win

NICK Stiles has seen improvement since taking on the co-coaching role at the Reds two months ago, but now he's desperate for an away victory.

The Queensland outfit has drawn with the Blues and beaten the Highlanders and Cheetahs.

They were impressive results but they all came from the comfort of playing in Brisbane.

The Reds are yet to record a victory away from home in the 2016 Super Rugby competition and tonight is another big test against last year's runners-up, the Hurricanes, in Wellington.

"We've had a pretty good record at home recently. (But) you've got to learn to win away from home," Stiles said. "Now we get a chance to go to the Cake Tin (Westpac Stadium) and play the Hurricanes, which is a very good side and it's another opportunity to win away from home."

The Reds' quest for that first away victory of the year might be a little easier with star Hurricanes Julian and Ardie Savea, Cory Jane and Victor Vito and reserve prop Chris Eves to sit out this game after breaking a team- imposed curfew last week.

Meanwhile, the Waratahs will have an unchanged line-up for their clash against the Bulls at Allianz Stadium tonight.

New South Wales beat the Cheetahs 21-6 in Sydney last Saturday night.

Bernard Foley will become the Waratahs' highest-capped five-eighth, surpassing previous record holder Daniel Halangahu, when he runs out for his 60th Super Rugby match. Utility back Matt Carraro will notch up his 50th.

The Waratahs have won seven out of 10 matches when hosting the Bulls.

And the Sunwolves will host the Stormers in Singapore tonight.
