How to get a job on the Second Range Crossing project

IF you're looking to get work on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project you're not alone.

Bypass constructor Nexus Infrastructure has been inundated by requests from residents looking for work.

A spokesman said there had been a large amount of interest from the community to get involved with the project as contractors or employees.

The consortium is holding procurement and employment information sessions in the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley regions to inform the community about the scope of the project, its timeline and what opportunities there are for people to get involved.

"It will also let them know how to stay in touch with the project team to receive up-to-date information as it becomes available," a spokesman said.

The sessions are being held in Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre in Gatton and Picnic Point Cafe and Restaurant in Toowoomba.

The sessions will outline key requirements for job seekers, suppliers and sub-contractors in the region and provide valuable information on how to supply goods and services or get involved in the delivery of the crossing.

Attendance at sessions is not essential for people to be involved in the delivery of the crossing project.

Nexus will not be receiving applications, expressions of interest or conducting interviews at the events.

Two of the three Toowoomba sessions are booked out and one of the two in Gatton are is booked out.

In other Toowoomba bypass news a static crossing display is expected to open at the Gatton Cultural Centre this Friday.

It will provide locals and visitors with images and information about the project, throughout its construction timeline.

It is the first of three centres that will open, with the other two locations in the Toowoomba CBD and at the site compound to be established in the coming months.
