Man pistol-whipped, shoulder dislocated during break-in

UPDATE 1PM: Ipswich detectives are investigating an overnight incident in which armed intruders stormed into a home.

Three men, one armed with a gun, entered a house on Ford St, Raceview after midnight this morning.

Police say the intruders demanded money from the two occupants of the house, a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.

The man was assaulted by one of the men using the firearm to strike him around the head and shoulders. He also received a laceration to his head and had his shoulder dislocated.

The men then searched the residence before leaving the scene.

The 23-year-old woman was not physically injured.

The 22-year-old was later transported to hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
