Resource heavyweights to lead mining awards judging panel
THE first four resource executives who will lead the Queensland Mining Awards judging panel have been revealed.
Hosted by the Bowen Basin Mining Club, the awards will assess entries covering all aspects of the resources industry, from coal to minerals and gas, through an expert judging panel.
The panel’s first four judges are QCoal Group chief operating officer Peter Kane, Glencore group manager procurement Darren Oliver, BMA head of asset integration Andrew Wilson and Imvelo chief executive Dr Sharna Glover.
Bowen Basin Mining Club director Jodie Currie said it was important for award entrants to know that their entries were judged by experts with real industry experience.
Dr Glover is a first-time judge with particular experience in business transformation, innovation and automation.
She said she couldn’t wait to uncover the hidden gems of the industry through the judging process.
“As someone who has experienced both ‘sides of the table’ in the mining industry, with 18 years of BHP executive experience and now running my own business, I look forward to seeing the amazing stories of innovation that our industry has to tell,” she said.
Online entry to the awards is open until Friday, May 1.
