Amber Heard's dog makes social media comeback

AMBER Heard has finally let the dog out of the bag.

The American actor, who is on the Gold Coast to film the new Aquaman movie, posted a photo with one of her two Yorkshire terriers to Instagram this morning.

"Missing my baby," she wrote.

But Barnaby Joyce and biosecurity can rest easy - the star did not bring her dogs Pistol and Boo back to Queensland.

Her sister Whitney Heard promptly replied to the post with: "Let's make it perfectly clear! This is an old pic, Australia! The dogs are here in the states with us!"

Last April Amber Heard pleaded guilty at a Gold Coast court for falsifying quarantine documents when she brought the dogs into Australia to visit then husband Johnny Depp, who was filming the latest Pirates film in Queensland.

She was handed a $1,000 good behaviour bond.

A video of the pair apologising for flying their dogs into the country was played to the court, which later went viral and was widely criticised.

Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said at the time that Mr Depp looked like he was "auditioning for the Godfather".
