Returning Lion Daniel Rich will be richer for pre-season run

BRISBANE Lions onballer Daniel Rich hopes he can play at least one pre-season match in preparation for the round-one clash against Collingwood on April 4.

The 24-year-old (pictured) underwent a full knee reconstruction after rupturing the ACL in his right knee in round three last season.

"It would be good to get a few games in before the first game of the season," Rich told Lions TV.

"If I can play in the first NAB Challenge match that would be great, but if not, it's not the end of the world."

Brisbane will open its NAB Challenge against St Kilda in Burpengary on February 28, before taking on the Sydney Swans in Coffs Harbour on March 6 and the Suns on the Gold Coast on March 20.

A successful return by Rich will see Brisbane boast one of the best midfields in the competition, including Tom Rockliff and Jack Redden, and recruits Dayne Beams, Mitch Robinson and Allen Christensen.
