You'll Never Walk Alone dedicated to Daniel Morcombe

RIGHTEOUS Brothers music legend Bill Medley has dedicated the iconic song You'll Never Walk Alone to Daniel Morcombe.

The veteran entertainer, who is touring Australia next March, was told about Daniel's story on Sunshine Coast radio station 92.7 Mix FM on Thursday morning.

Medley, 73,  said he was happy to dedicate the tune, performed by him and Bobby Hatfield, to Daniel, in the lead-up to the Walk for Daniel.

The song is used as part of the start to the walk.

"I can't tell you how touched I am,'' Medley told hosts Caroline Hutchinson and Mark Darin.

"You'll Never Walk Alone was Bobby and my's favourite song.

"I have heard Daniel was a great kid and I am very honoured.''

"This is for you Daniel.''

Bruce and Denise Morcombe are expected to join hundreds of students and their parents on the walk from Woombye to Palmwoods to complete the journey Daniel never got to complete.

The Palmwoods teenager disappeared while waiting for a bus under the Kiel Mountain overpass bridge on December 7, 2003.

A man has since been charged with his abduction and murder.

Medley will bring his Lovin' Feelin' 50th Anniversary tour to east coast cities and regional centres including Caloundra.

The veteran entertainer will bring his full band with him on what is his first ever solo tour of Australia.

He is expected to perform The Righteous Brothers' hits such as Unchained Melody, You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', (You're My) Soul And Inspiration and his Dirty Dancing classic (I've Had) The Time Of My Life.
